Category mapping: suggested categories, with AI for the rest

Feedyio suggests a channel category for every unmapped Shopify category, product type or collection, and AI looks for the rest.

Category mapping: suggested categories, with AI for the rest

When you pair categories in a feed or in a shared category mapping, Feedyio now suggests a channel category for each Shopify category, product type or collection that is not mapped yet.

Each suggestion shows how sure it is and where it comes from, for example an official mapping, the choice of other shops or a name match. Accept it or decline it right under the field, or accept all high confidence suggestions with one click.

For categories without a confident match, "Suggest with AI" looks for the best category in the channel's tree in the background. Nothing changes until you accept a suggestion and save.

What's included

  • Works when pairing by Categories, Product types or Collections, in the feed detail and on the Category mappings page, for every category tree except Custom.
  • Nothing runs on its own: click "Suggest" to look for suggestions in the background, and "Suggest again" later. "Suggested categories" then shows how many unmapped categories have a suggestion and how many are high confidence; "Accept N confident" adds all high confidence suggestions at once.
  • Each suggestion shows a confidence percentage and its source: Official mapping, Other shops, Name match, Previous suggestion, Parent category or AI. When it is less certain, you pick from up to three possible categories.
  • "Suggest with AI" runs for the categories that still have no confident suggestion; it works in the background and the list refreshes when it is done.
  • Declined suggestions stay hidden; "Show declined" lists them and you can restore them.
  • Nothing changes on its own: accepted suggestions are added to the pairing like a manual choice, and the feed uses them after you save.
