Trendyol product import from Shopify: how to fill the migration template with Feedyio

Trendyol product import from Shopify: how to fill the migration template with Feedyio

Trendyol is one of the biggest online marketplaces in Turkey. Getting a Shopify catalog onto Trendyol usually starts with the same chore: a product upload template where every variant needs a barcode, a model code, a brand, a category, a VAT rate, a price, stock and images. Copying that by hand for a few hundred variants is slow, and it goes stale the moment your prices or stock change. This guide covers what the template expects, how Feedyio fills it from Shopify, and what to check before you upload.

One thing up front: Feedyio builds the file and hosts it at your feed URL. It does not send anything to Trendyol. You paste the rows into Trendyol's Excel template or upload the file in the Trendyol seller portal yourself.

How Trendyol identifies a product

Trendyol builds its catalog around a few identifiers, and getting them right matters more than any description. The Trendyol product creation documentation lists these as required:

  • Barcode: one per variant, up to 40 characters. Besides letters and digits only ".", "-" and "_" are allowed.
  • Model code (productMainId): shared by all variants of one product, up to 40 characters. Trendyol uses it to show sizes and colors on one product page.
  • Brand and category: both must exist in Trendyol's own brand and category lists.
  • Title (up to 100 characters), description, VAT rate, price and stock.
  • Images: up to 8 per barcode, on https URLs. Trendyol asks for 1200 × 1800 pixel images.
  • Attributes: the attributes Trendyol defines for the category, such as color or size.

The columns Feedyio sends

The "Trendyol - Product import" template in Feedyio writes a CSV in the columns of Trendyol's product migration template: comma separated, with a header row and every value in quotes, one row per variant.

  • Barcode: the variant barcode from Shopify. Variants without a barcode are left out of the file and listed in the feed report, because Trendyol cannot list them.
  • Title and Description: from your product, with the title and description settings of the feed.
  • ModelCode: from the Group by setting, the product ID or a metafield, so all variants of a product share it.
  • Vat Rate: from the feed's Tax options: a default rate and, if you need it, different rates for selected collections.
  • Price: two decimals with a dot, without a currency symbol, in the currency you pick for the feed.
  • Stock: your inventory quantity, optionally from selected locations.
  • ImageUrl: the variant image followed by the product images, separated by commas.
  • CategoryName: the Shopify product category; when a product has none, its product type.
  • BrandName: the product vendor.
  • Attributes/Values: the variant options as Name:Value pairs separated by semicolons, for example "Renk:Siyah;Beden:M".

Every prefilled column can be overridden in the feed editor with the additional fields Vat Rate, Category name, Brand name, Model code and Attributes/Values. You can fill them from a metafield, a fixed value or a Liquid expression.

Step by step in Feedyio

  1. Install Feedyio from the Shopify App Store and let the first product sync finish.
  2. Create the feed. Go to Feeds → Create feed and pick Trendyol - Product import.
  3. Language and currency. If your store has Turkish translations, choose Turkish as the feed language. Pick the currency your Trendyol prices should be in.
  4. VAT. In Tax options set the default VAT rate and add overrides for collections with a different rate.
  5. Variants. Check Group by so the model code is the same for every variant of a product, and Variant submission for which variants go into the file.
  6. Category and brand. If your Shopify categories or vendors don't match Trendyol's lists, add the Category name or Brand name field and fill it with Trendyol's names, for example from a product metafield.
  7. Exclude what should not go out in Exclude Products, for example out of stock items or test products.
  8. Preview and use the file. Open the feed preview, check a few rows and the feed report, then copy the feed URL or download the file and bring the rows into Trendyol's template or seller portal.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Missing or internal barcodes. Variants without a barcode never make it into the file. Barcodes with spaces or other special characters are rejected by Trendyol. Fix them in Shopify first.
  • One model code per variant. If every variant gets its own model code, Trendyol shows each size or color as a separate product. Group by the product ID unless you keep a dedicated model code in a metafield.
  • Shopify category instead of a Trendyol category. The default category is the Shopify product category, which is a starting point, not Trendyol's tree. Map it to Trendyol's category names before the upload.
  • Too many images. Feedyio lists every product image. Trendyol accepts up to 8 per barcode, so trim the list in the template if a product has more.
  • Long titles. Trendyol allows 100 characters. Shorten long titles in the feed's title setting rather than editing each product.
  • Option names in English. Attributes/Values uses your Shopify option names. If Trendyol expects Turkish attribute names (Renk, Beden), use translations or override the field.

FAQ

Does Feedyio upload the products to Trendyol?

No. Feedyio builds the CSV and hosts it at your feed URL. You add the rows to Trendyol's template or upload the file in the seller portal.

Does the file update when my prices or stock change?

Yes. Feedyio rebuilds the feed after product syncs, so the file at your feed URL follows your Shopify store. Trendyol only sees the changes when you bring the new file in.

What happens to variants without a barcode?

They are left out of the file and listed in the feed report, so you can see which ones to fix.

Can I send a different brand or category than in Shopify?

Yes. Add the Brand name or Category name field in the feed editor and fill it from a metafield, a fixed value or Liquid.

More about the channel and its fields is on the Trendyol feed page.
